Where can I sell militaria in Nuremberg?
Nuremberg and Franconia have antique dealers and auction houses that also take in militaria — usually as one category among many, not as a specialism. It is always worth comparing prices before selling, and that is exactly what we recommend.
One point that sets Nuremberg apart from other cities: the Nazi Party Rallies (Reichsparteitage) were held here from 1933 to 1938. Franconian households still hold badges, plaques, photographs and printed material from those years — pieces many heirs are unsure they are even allowed to touch. You are allowed to — and we buy such pieces. We value and document this material strictly in private.
Our offer differs from the traditional trade in one respect: we buy for our own collection — with no dealer's mark-up. A shop has to factor in its later resale margin when it buys. We don't have to, because we keep the pieces.
What we buy in Nuremberg
Historical pieces up to 1945: medals and decorations, uniforms, helmets, Blankwaffen (edged weapons) such as sabres and daggers, documents, photo albums, equipment — right up to military vehicles and motorcycles.
Nuremberg has only been Bavarian since 1806, and has belonged to the Bavarian honours system ever since: Bavarian orders and long-service decorations from the 19th century are commonplace in Franconian Nachlass estates. On the vehicle side, the city is a special case in its own right — Zündapp built motorcycles here, including the heavy Wehrmacht sidecar combination, the KS 750. Motorcycles, sidecars, spare parts and factory documentation from this production interest us particularly.
What we do not buy: firearms and replicas. A significant share of what we're offered is reproduction — checking for originality is therefore always part of the valuation.
How the sale works

To be upfront: we are not based in Nuremberg
We are a Spanish collector's house based in Madrid, and we buy across the whole of Germany. Distance makes no difference to the valuation — it is done from your photos. For collections and extensive Nachlass estates, we travel to Nuremberg and complete the purchase at your home, discreetly and without you having to transport anything. We combine appointments in Fürth, Erlangen, Bamberg or Würzburg into the same trip.
On the legal side: trading in original pieces from before 1945 is legal in Germany. The public display of certain symbols is restricted under § 86a StGB (Germany's Criminal Code) — which is why we treat photos containing such symbols in confidence and document the pieces strictly in private.
Frequently asked questions
What does the valuation cost?
Nothing. The WhatsApp valuation is free and non-binding — even if you decide afterwards not to sell.
Do I need to know what the pieces are worth?
No. Most enquiries come from heirs seeing the holdings for the first time. Just send photos of everything, including papers and photo albums — the value is often found where you'd least expect it.
Do you also buy complete Nachlass estates in Nuremberg?
Yes, especially those. For complete Nachlass estates we arrange an appointment in Nuremberg, view everything on site and, if you wish, pay in cash immediately.
